Matthew A. Robinson

â—ˆ ABOUT â—ˆ

Acclaimed baritone Matthew A. Robinson has firmly established himself as one of the most talented singers in Central Pennsylvania.  With his rich voice, musicality, and commanding presence, he has become one of the most sought-after vocalists in both stage performance, concert, and sacred venues.

In demand as a concert soloist, Matthew has performed major works including Handel’s Messiah, Schubert’s Mass in G, Haydn’s Paukenmesse & The Creation, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Requiem Mass, Fauré’s Requiem Mass, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.  In spring 2025, Robinson is slated to serve as baritone soloist in Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ in Lancaster, PA.

Robinson has extensive performance credits and recognition as a leading musical theater actor in roles such as Archibald Craven The Secret Garden, Javert Les Misérables, Bill Sykes Oliver!, King Charlemagne Pippin, El Gallo Fantasticks, and Mr. Boddy Clue: The Musical.  Matthew’s performance as Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar was met with high acclaim.  Broadway World’s Marakay Rogers remarked, “Robinson makes anyone who loves serious bass singing cheer.  He’s got the chops, as well as the nuances to make an audience imagine a speaker whose pronouncements indeed carry gravitas.”

An active recitalist, Mr. Robinson frequently coordinates and presents classical music recitals across the region.  Matthew has recently been appointed Managing Director of the revival of acclaimed classical concert series, Music Under the Dome, at Saint Patrick Cathedral in Harrisburg, PA, providing prominent classical music performances, as well as exposing the beautiful, sacred venue to the community.

A music educator, Matthew serves as an Instructor of Voice at the Perfect 5th Musical Arts Center in Mechanicsburg, PA, and Cadence Musical Arts Programs in Hershey, PA.

Active in the community, Matthew volunteers his time singing for local veterans' ceremonies and other community organizations.  Notably, he contributes to organizations such as the Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee, the Rotary Club of the West Shore, the Central PA Marine Associates, and the St. Jude Heroes of Central PA.

Matthew continues to expand his repertoire, versatility, and the practice of vocal performance.  Matthew A. Robinson is a native of Central Pennsylvania, attending Boiling Springs High School and Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA, studying vocal performance under Dr. Damian Savarino.
